Labor Day was Nate's birthday. It's just amazing how quickly a year can fly by! Over the course of a single year, it doesn't seem possible for a baby to change and grow so much. He was so tiny and helpless at birth, of course. Now he is able to demonstrate independence, both by his newfound mobility, and through his surfacing personality. Surely the first year brings about the most change, but maybe every birthday of Nate's I'll feel this way! It's been quite a ride. We had a wonderful time with just a few friends. There was food, drinks, cupcakes, balloons, and a few gifts... too bad Nathan won't remember any of it. In fact, he hit the hay before the gifts were even opened. Sleepy (cranky) boy! It was a fantastic celebration, though...
